The journey from January 2025 hasn’t been an easy one for any of us - community members or wildlife. But we’re stunned at just how resilient our mountains have proven to be. 💪🏾
Not only did a population of steelhead trout survive the Palisades Fire and subsequent mudflows, but against all odds, they’ve reproduced 🥹
Words cannot describe how grateful we are that these fish found a way. And we look forward to continuing to restore & monitor their habitat to ensure they continue to thrive in the face of adversity. Projects like the restoration of Topanga Lagoon - their only access to the ocean to become steelhead - are invaluable to that continued survival. We’re hosting a meeting on May 31st to share more information & updates to this vital project. Learn more at the link in our bio 💡
