We are aware of the flurry of Executive Orders from the new administration that are stoking fear, uncertainty, and concerns of threats to our campus community. I want to reassure you of our unwavering commitment, dedication, and service to Undocumented students, DACA recipients, and LGBTQIA2+ community members.
We stand for creating an inclusive and welcoming college campus community. We remain steadfast in our mission, vision, and TIGER values to provide equitable access, support services, and resources to all of our students.
RCC is a proud Hispanic Serving Institution and a sanctuary school that will continue to uphold the 2018 Legal Advisory 18-01 reinforcing the protections provided under SB 54 (California Values Act) and AB 21.
We stand in solidarity with our Undocumented students and LGBTQIA2+ community as partners in ensuring access to education, resources, information, and advocacy at RCC.

Save the date: Curatorial talk by @gyorodyody on Thursday, May 21 at 3pm @socialjusticeriverside ✨
Hold My Hand in Yours: Reframing Access as Care in Contemporary Art
What would it mean for museums to center access not as a constraint, but as a creative and critical methodology?
This lecture by independent curator and art historian Andrea Gyorodyexplores disability access as a generative framework for curatorial practice, drawing on her 2025 exhibition Hold My Hand in Yours.
Bringing together works that foreground the hand as a site of labor, care, touch, and community, the exhibition invited a reconsideration of how we encounter art. This talk will trace how access can move beyond compliance toward a more expansive, relational model, one that reshapes exhibition design, interpretation, and audience engagement.
Through examples from the exhibition, including works by Elana Mann, Art Made Between Opposite Sides, Constantina Zavitsanos, and Janine Antoni, Gyorody considers how disability perspectives can open new aesthetic and ethical possibilities that empower and enrich everyone.
