A humbling reminder that itās not about how many people like, buy, or consume your art. Itās about the one individual who heard it in the right place at the right time and it stayed with them. Hopefully helped them the same way my favourite artists were there for me at the right place, at the right time.

What stayed with you after watching this?
Not everyone responds to what they go through by trying to lift others. Turning tragedy and pain into inspiration for the rest of us.
Thatās what stood out to me about Nekai. In a time when we put our hope in celebrities and algorithms to give us heroes, to give us someone or something to believe inā¦ Nekai is a true hero.
Heās a walking reminder that we can all be heroes for someone if we choose to stand on our values, beliefs and authenticity, and have the bravery to share our story.
Iāve had the chance to reflect on last Fridays screening of @nekaiwalks and feel inspired and uplifted, but like he says, the work is not doneā¦I walk with Nekai!

@nekaiwalks , a film directed by @ricoking_ , stays with that part. It traces the aftermath of Nekai, a 16-year-old boy in Jane and Finch who was randomly shot while walking home. A long, uncertain path of recovery that followed, but what starts as one fight for survival becomes something bigger: a story of resilience, accountability, and the need for real, collective healing.
Iām letting you know that weāre building something committed to making real change and impact in the work, in the message, and in the community around us.
