Anlässlich des 35-jährigen Jubiläums des Preises „Frauen Europas“ hat die Europäische Bewegung Deutschland e.V. (EBD) in diesem Jahr zwei herausragende Persönlichkeiten aus. Neben Prof. Dr. Gabriele Abels wurde unser langjähriges RAZAM-Mitglied und ehemalige 2. Vorsitzende Ina Rumiantseva als „Frau Europas 2026“ geehrt.
Mit dieser Auszeichnung würdigt die EBD zwei Frauen, die auf unterschiedliche Weise zur europäischen Integration beitragen: durch gelebte Solidarität über Grenzen hinweg sowie durch wissenschaftliche Reflexion und gesellschaftliches Engagement.
Die feierliche Preisverleihung fand am 4. Mai 2026 in Berlin in Kooperation mit der Europäische Kommission statt.
Die Vorsitzende von RAZAM, Maria Rudz, wurde mit der Medaille „Für verdienstvolle Arbeit zum Wohle von Belarus“ ausgezeichnet.
Die Preisverleihung fand am 2. Mai im Rahmen der Fünften Konferenz der Belarusen der Welt statt.
Die Auszeichnung des Vereinigten Übergangskabinetts wurde persönlich von Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya @prezident.sveta überreicht.
„Seit nun fast sechs Jahren setzen wir uns ununterbrochen dafür ein, Belarus in Deutschland sichtbar zu machen: Wir sprechen mit Politikerinnen und Politikern sowie mit Journalistinnen und Journalisten, unterstützen von Repression Betroffene, realisieren Partnerschaftsprojekte und organisieren belarusische Veranstaltungen – von kleinen Wohnzimmerabenden bis hin zu mehrtägigen Festivals“, erklärte Maria Rudz in ihrer Rede und dankte allen Anwesenden herzlich für ihren Einsatz für Belarus.
Yesterday, on May 3, the world marked World Press Freedom Day and highlighted the importance of independent media.
For Belarus, this date is not a celebration, but a reminder of what it means when almost the entire media landscape is under the control of one man. Without free media, there can be no real democracy.
Under Lukashenka, state media are fully subordinated to the president, while independent outlets face constant harassment, censorship and pressure to self-censor. Journalists are detained, fined and jailed for “wrong” words, critical reporting and simply for doing their job.

An online event on April 15 will mark the 40th anniversary of the Charnobyl nuclear disaster — a tragedy that profoundly affected Belarus.
Participants will explore the narratives and images of the catastrophe and its aftermath that currently shape Belarusian society, as well as those that remain marginalized. They will also discuss how state policy, scientific discourse, and cultural practices influence these processes.
The discussion will further examine how Charnobyl continues to shape the identities of people born after the disaster. It will also address changes in the lives of displaced persons, as well as the experiences of children who participated in international humanitarian programs abroad.
The event will be moderated by Aliaksei Bratachkin.
