Fog is one of the most common—and most disruptive—weather features in the Southern Appalachians. It reduces visibility, slows travel, and can vary dramatically over just a few miles.
Beginning today, RaysWeather is introducing the RaysWeather Appalachian Fog Registry—a system for identifying and naming significant fog events across the region.
The goal is simple: improve communication and provide clearer context for the type and impact of fog in a given situation.
