First DechicoWorldz party
💗 A couple years back I had booked a DIY show during SXSW in my old backyard in Hyde Park very similar to this one except it didn’t go as planned.
Everything that could have possibly went wrong, went wrong, and I remember telling myself at the end of the day that I would never ever book a show or throw any kind of event ever again.
I was so freaking scared to throw DechicoWorldz and I was stressing so bad, but at some point I let go of trying so hard to control it all and accepted that it will be.
I am beyond grateful to report that thanks to everyone’s support we raised $857.11 total in donations and 💯% of that was payed out to these talented artists!
It takes a village of people not just me or you, but everyone walking in together, holding hands and bringing their friends and friends of friends.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!! WE DID THE FUCKING THING!!!

My name is Rayna and I started audio engineering because I love live music! + Austin’s music community has brought me SOO much that I am grateful for today.
But I’m so restless to explore if there’s more I want to be doing!!! And there is NOTHING that inspires me more than seeing people wear a bunch of different hats and have so much passion for all of their hats… That’s why I am launching my own independent music promotions thingy @dechico.worldz on March 13th and am asking yet again for support🙏🏽

my first time working sx !! Thanks to @happntwice I got a taste of some real DIY stuff I am fascinated by how these crazy different noises sound in unconventional spaces AND unconventional equipment
Last month, I graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Arts and Entertainment Technologies w/ a certificate in computer sciences- all of that to say it’s been the most challenging time ever for me.
Without the people that surrounded me these past four years at KVRX, LAITS, and AET professors I would never be as confident in myself as I am now.
I am forever grateful for the people that have treated me w kindness and patience here and allowing space to find myself. To all my advisors and my bosses and my friends and colleagues and my parents …
I want to make you proud forever and always thank you
