A collab 25 years in the making...Just be good (by @rayner9090 ) has shaped my music taste and got me into the music I love today. And those kind of tracks made me want to produce music one day. Today, not only have I produced and released some tracks and even touched some people, I have had the opportunity to chat and even produce something together with the man himself. Going through emotional time at the moment and this track reflects precisely that, Emotion. So thank you @rayner9090 for bringing emotion through your music, for touching so many people over a few decades now, with your music, and thank you for letting me join your journey! Massive respect
Was gonna just post one track but said fuck it I’ll turn it into a bit of a tribute post for the OG @rayner9090 . Came across one of these around two years ago on Soundcloud and decided to dig a bit more, and every single track of his that I found after was just quality.
Still getting played 30 years on by the likes of Stussy, Baker, Rossi, Laidlaw and Dr B, and remixes by Kepler & Soul Mass Transit System just show how the best tracks are always timeless.
Clipped the tracks the best I could to give a nice idea of them, but all are at least 6 mins and some are closer to 10 with multiple buildups and breakdowns, so best giving them a look yourself to do them justice. All the tracks are in the Playlists in my bio.

Big percy. Massive tune and my favourite from this record. I love the artwork on these releases also as it fits the atmosphere of the music really nicely 👌
Released in 1996 on the To Groove To Records label, Paul Rayner's "Baby" is a quintessential slice of UK garage history that still hits just as hard today. As a standout track on the Step EP under his Slaves Incorporated moniker, it perfectly balances a soulful, rolling groove with that raw, underground edge that defined the mid-90s scene. It’s a masterclass in minimalist production, using infectious vocal chops and a driving bassline to create an atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and timeless.
The track was rereleased on @for_those_that_knoe in 2020.
