Happiest of birthdays to artist @genevievemay 🥳 It’s amazing when you meet friends that are true kindred spirits that share your passion for travel, adventure, art, fashion, food and pure wanderlust. Last year took us all over the map, but one of my favorite moments was tracking down flamingos in the waters of Aruba to film Genevieve painting them on @raymarpanels 🦩 May we all remember to dream and say yes to new experiences, because that’s what life is all about. Let this next trip around the sun bring even more wild adventures, joy, creativity and laughter 💖 #wanderlust #paintingfromlife #traveladventures #aruba #onlocationshoot

*Small brush varnishing* Honored to have been commissioned by the @historicalassociationlewiston to create this and another oil painting for their museum. 💙 Special thanks to the @buffalohistorymuseum for access to their archives, allowing me to bring Benjamin Barton and his wife to life. I'm happy that these artworks are on display year-round. I'll need to post the 2nd painting soon! . . . Materials: oil on custom oval, linen ACM @raymarpanels

I’ve been keeping this quiet—but it’s time. I’m one of nine artists in We Walk This Road Alone at @rehscontemporary . Opening night: Friday, May 15 | 4–8 PM Also on view: Saturday, May 16 | 12–5 PM And yes—this one matters. My painting Nimue is featured in the exhibition (and on the promo). Swipe to step into her world—framed by @masterworksframes and painted on @raymarpanels . The exhibition explores solitude as a singular state—something stripped back, almost bare—but also deeply transformative, even restorative. Not loneliness, but a return. A reckoning. A quiet becoming. Nimue, the Lady of the Lake, has always stayed with me. Not just as myth, but as a presence—watchful, self-possessed. In one telling, she seals Merlin away. Not out of cruelty, but out of knowing. Out of choosing. This piece holds that moment. She stands at the edge of decision—caught between release and restraint, between who she has been and who she’s about to become. The water offers no answers, only reflection. And sometimes, that’s enough. The palette drifts through a hazy summer—soft, luminous, almost deceptive in its calm. Because beneath it, there’s tension. A quiet reckoning. It’s that familiar question, the one that doesn’t let you look away: Do I stay… or do I walk this road alone? #WeWalkThisRoadAlone #Nimue #ContemporaryArt #GroupExhibition #FigurativePainting

What are your thoughts on western shows? Have you attended the Prix de West before? “Scents of Summer” is my main piece for the show this year, and my only still life. My other pieces are recent landscapes, which I hope will be a better fit for the event. Time will tell! Scents of Summer 19 x 29 inches, oil on linen (custom RayMar C13 panel)

A Respite into the Great Unknown, 24 x 24, is one of those special paintings that will be offered at auction during the Briscoe’s Night of Artists. You can follow the link in my bio to place a bid. This piece was inspired by a remarkable place in the Grand Canyon, Redwall Cavern, along the Colorado River. The location feels almost unreal. I visited it on my second river trip with Grand Canyon Expeditions and found myself wishing for more time there. The title draws from John Wesley Powell’s 1869 expedition, which he described as an “expedition into the great unknown” along the Green and Colorado Rivers. He stopped here and is credited with naming Redwall Cavern. Leading the journey with only one arm, Powell and his crew pushed into an unforgiving landscape, driven by a desire to understand the land, its forces, and the life held within it. A special note to Raymar for my linen, Montgomery for the frame. Arizona Highways and the Grand Canyon Conservancy for keeping our Natural Wonder Healthy and Loved.

From a dream… to a world-class reality. @scottsdale_art_week transformed the desert into a global art destination — bringing together galleries, collectors, artists and designers from around the globe. As one of the co-owners of this fair, I’m incredibly proud of our team and what we created — to not just participate in the art world, but to help shape it. At 18, I left Arizona searching for art and culture because at the time I didn’t feel it was here. So I traveled the world and lived in London, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Paris seeking creative energy everywhere I could. But this weekend, I saw that same level of art, conversation, and connection right here in my native desert — rivaling major art capitals around the world. Not to mention the sale of a 1.2 million dollar painting on opening night! Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported and collected. I’m beyond grateful. This is just the beginning. Already dreaming bigger for next year ✨ . . . #artfair #artfairs #arizonaart #artcollector @raymarpanels
