A bird with wings, but nowhere to fly trapped in comfort, dreaming of the Strom I found this broken birdcage abandoned in a bush, rusting away somewhere in my neighbourhood. When I saw it, I was instantly inspired. I picked it up and took it home with me, cleaned it, and painted it to look brand new. I imagined a bird trapping itself in a cage giving up its own freedom for the sake of comfort. To me, it symbolized a feeling many of us have probably faced: the act of shielding ourselves from the unknown, of holding ourselves back from our dreams out of fear. Clipping our own wings before we even get the chance to fly. With this incredible team, we were able to bring the concept, symbolism, and visuals to life bold, beautiful, and fierce. I love infusing emotion and symbolism into my concepts and shoots even if it’s just for me, it’s therapeutic.
