Nana has been building in my head for a while now.
In many ways, she is the visual and fundamental representation of @studiothreefour — in human form.
From the very first day I started working on the studio — shaping its branding, concept, and even the interior — I didn’t realize I was also shaping her.
I’ve always admired brands that fully immerse you in their own universe — the kind that feel alive, like characters you can step into. Inventing Black Bean was my experiment in that direction.
What started as a creative exploration became something much more personal. It was an art piece I simply wanted to make — something to enjoy, to feel — but it also reflects the core of Studio Three Four. A passion project, yes, but also a statement of potential.
Through three videos, we follow an individual navigating her obsession. Subtle Easter eggs, cinematic nods, and inspirations from films both I and Studio Three Four grew up loving are woven throughout.
Creating this series as both Creative Director and Copywriter — alongside a wonderful team — was pure joy.

Tijdens de vakantieperiode zijn we druk bezig geweest met de verhuizing naar én de inrichting van het Jakoba Mulderhuis. Ons prachtige, gloednieuwe gebouw op de Amstelcampus begint steeds meer een school te worden.🥰
Onze medewerker @rayastudillo kon de verleiding niet weerstaan om met zijn drone een paar weergaloze opnames te maken van het atrium en de nabijgelegen ruimtes.❤️
Nog 1 week te gaan en dan zijn we klaar voor de opening van het schooljaar. We hebben er zin!🥳
