‘For her family’ / Raya Shaban ‘For her family’ is an intimate portrait by Raya Shaban of a Jordanian architect, Meisa Batayneh, in her home, a home that she's designed at a turning point in her life and career. The short film, like her house, resonates a kind of personal and spiritual reflection. The architect reveals her philosophy behind this home, the path that leads to the olive tree, and the gradual collection and building of the path with Jordanian stone. Raya Shaban is a Jordanian architect and filmmaker based between Mexico City and Amman. Her work explores the emotional and spatial dimensions of home, forming a series she calls domestic portraits - intimate studies of architects within the spaces they inhabit and create. Amidst unimaginable devastation, the need for healing and solidarity has never been greater. Now available: Adeline de Monseignat’s limited-edition black-patinated sculpture inspired by the watermelon seed. Twenty-five seeds, each sold to benefit HEAL Palestine’s Global Healing Program, which has been working tirelessly to bring injured children from Gaza to leading hospitals abroad for free, lifesaving medical treatment and care. This film has been created in collaboration with Jordanian-Palestinian filmmaker Raya Shaban. An architect by training (Architectural Association, London), Shaban’s latest projects include a series of artist and artisan portraits, one of which was recently filmed in Palestine’s occupied West Bank. #RootedforGaza @adelinedemonseignat

So excited to share these stills from our upcoming documentary, beautifully shot around the west bank by Jerusalem based cinematographer @youhammad , with sounds tastefully captured by @montaseralul Despite the toughest times, we were met with resilience and warmth in the hearts of all those we met. From the women of Samou and Battir, who welcomed us into their lives and shared their stories, to the dedicated tailors in Bethlehem, we witnessed a spirit of hospitality that runs deep in Palestinian culture, while surrounded by olive trees, grapevines, and a constant echo of humor throughout the filming process. Special thanks to Producer @zananirimichael and deepest gratitude to Yasmeen Mjalli, founder of @nolcollective , whose story brought this project to life. Stay tuned for the full release to experience Palestine as a tapestry of heritage, generosity and beauty. Photos of crew by @simsim.jpeg 🇵🇸
