This is a house that I designed for a wonderful family back in 2012. They just adopted a baby from Japan, which was in part the inspiration for the design. The Prairie style was the first of the American modern styles circa 1890’s and it had roots in Japanese Architecture. For this house I put a little more emphasis on those roots. Decatur’s new Jazz Center and Cuban restaurant will be opening in a matter of months. Drywall is almost complete and the systems will soon be up and running. Equipment for the restaurant Clave is starting to be installed. We’re all very excited that Will Scruggs’ dream is coming to fruition after 2 years in the making.
The Fish Residence. What a pleasure it was to work with these clients. Shane Lloyd was the builder and once again, he hit this one out of the park. Some of the unique features in this house include a Kosher kitchen, well hidden solar array, and great pool house/ ADU.
Decatur’s new Jazz Club is quickly coming together. We passed framing and plumbing inspections. Soon electrical and mechanical will be complete and drywall will begin! Make plans to come see the shows in late Spring or early Summer.
Clavé will be a Cuban themed restaurant coming soon to downtown Decatur. It will be at the front end of the building with a Jazz Club in the back. Clavé will be serving food and beverages to the club as well as in its own seating area. They will have an amazing patio and will be open for morning coffee until the last show.

This is a house I designed for the Wasserman family about a dozen years ago. They sold the house a couple of years ago and the new owners always have the best Christmas lights. This one gets the 2025 Griswold Award for lighting excellence.
Progress at Decatur’s new Jazz Club is moving along. Framing, ductwork and plumbing are mostly complete and electrical has begun. Kitchen equipment installation is underway. The elevator tower is done and exterior wheelchair ramps will be poured soon. The restaurant that will be serving the Club will be called Clave. It’s Cuban themed and is run by the owners of Mojitos in Norcross. Happy Holidays and we hope to see you at the show and the restaurant in a few months!
Framing is almost complete at the future Cornerstone Jazz Club. The elevator shaft is done and new basement is backfilled. So far we’re ahead of schedule and we’ve made it past all the old building surprises. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are going in now!
