Can you imagine? The amount of learning, experience, talent, and collective wisdom that fills the rehearsal room?
And believe me when I say that the 3-ish months of rehearsals with these supremely talented artists were filled with ABSOLUTE FUN, laughter, LIP-SMACKING food (mostly the kind courtesy of Kher sir), amazing evening tea sessions, and such endearing moments that we literally became one single functioning unit.
The god-awesome crew and HODs deserve an altogether different mention in another post.
‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjane’ is not just a play for me. It’s a milestone in my career. Being corrected, scolded, and subsequently appreciated by Kher sir during various intense scenes over months of rehearsals and the magical acting lessons and tips he gives to elevate our scenes together is the greatest masterclass in acting that any young actor can hope for.
Thank you, Anupam Kher sir, for this opportunity and trusting me with ‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjane’. And thank you Gajendra ji, for creating this beautiful world of JPA that we now so happily live in.

My play - Jaane Pehchaane Anjane
A resounding testament to the power of theatre, ‘Jaane Pehchane Anjaane’ premiered tonight, starring @anupampkher@rawalswaroop@imeghnamalik@thevikasrawat@its_mayasharma@mandale_thegirlwithideas@herman0707 . The play is a poignant exploration of the human experience. This masterful production deftly captures the nuances of human emotion, laying bare the universality of the human condition. The characters, brought to life with conviction by the stellar cast, navigate the intricate web of love, loss, and resilience, evoking a deeply relatable and immersive experience.
The play expertly balances humour and pathos, with several laugh-aloud moments that had the audience in splits. The music @anumalikmusic and dance sequences @chiragaggarwalofficial added a delightful touch, while the fabulous set design transported us to the world of the characters. When the narrative is controlled by the Master (Anupam Kher), it makes for compelling storytelling, drawing the audience in with its wit, wisdom, and warmth. Swaroop Sampat’s return to the stage is absolutely welcome! Her presence brings a unique energy to ‘Jaane Pehchane Anjaane’, and her chemistry with Anupam Kher is pure magic. A true theatre gem, she’s as captivating as ever!
Undoubtedly, the audience is left introspectively scarred, as who among us can claim immunity to the pangs of love, longing, disillusionment, loss, separation, and uncertainty? This play is an authentic portrayal of life’s complexities, leaving an indelible mark on all who witness it. Kudos to the brilliant writing and direction of @gajendraahire_goda
