RAT UTOPIA

lots of thanks to @goblincow for creating the logo. rat_utopia aims at wholesome, engaged entertainment, ritual and pro-action that highlights mixed media talent, philosophy and community. we will experiment with different ways of engagement, manifestation and play with the science of media consumption, live art and live music. the rituals we will perform are a rebellion against the society of the spectacle and are a respite against constant capitalist distraction techniques that have killed our spirit and keeps us within samsara. We want to establish a symbiotic relationship with nature and digital technology, tearing down the mechanisms of the modern world with its own tools, a sort of cyber-luddite approach to things, inspired by solarpunk, cyberpunk, true levellers and ecology. we are on the lookout for AV/Glitch artists that would like to perform/ have pre recorded video installations while bands/DJs are playing music.  also seeking: dance groups, DJs, bands, philosophers, magic practitioners, film makers, workshop ideas and any ideas that you feel will fit within our encompassing ethos. bibliography workshops, visual art, noise, punk, djs, doom metal, film, collaboration, skill sharing, zines, philosophy, dance, performance art, sound installations, gaming, psychedelia, nature, politics, skill shares, mutual aid, rave, glitch, electronica, hacking, cyberpunk, ludditeism, pirate radio, soundsystem culture, new age travellers, the film videodrome, the film wicker man, book clubs, clothing exchanges, foraging, the right to roam, magic ceremonies and rituals, the right to repair, the medium is the massage, the society of the spectacle, folklore

JOIN US on sunday the 22nd march at 2:30 to create seedbombs, listen to music, drink tea and chat ecology, music, the esoteric and political, and celebrate the turning of the season with us! after we have created the seedbombs we will have an optional walk around coventry throwing the wildflower seed filled balls where we go, to help pollinators and our surroundings. years previously this has been a very well received workshop and this year I have been making sure to research even more and make better so we really look forwards to seeing everybody there :)

SHOW TIMES FOR TOMORROW we have been joined by the brilliant @joshuaarnoldandtherine and are very excited to hear some esoteric witchy folky drone music! and sadly must add that the extremely talented @alysrainmusic has had to cancel due to health complications we hope she recovers well the event will be cash only but there is an atm just round the corner at sainsburys by pool meadows the address is 1 hill top, CV1 5AB not to be confused with the PVC building but its just behind there by the courtyard, if you need help ask a staff member at LTB and i will post signage guiding the lost on their way Merry Ratmas everybody!

Just an important update: unfortunately and sadly, one of the bands, wire worms, has had to cancel due to health concerns. BUT we still have the incredibly talented @leuco.tome AND the very cool coventry natives @indira_lucifer_sky and @alysrainmusic here to entertain you all alongside folkhorror visuals by @lewis___owen that you can enjoy while also [hopefully] giving a donation to @helpinghandscommunityproject or bringing along a donation for the food bank. we are excited to see you all there and I hope the member of wire worms has a smooth recovery soon
