@RashedHaq is a Bangladeshi-American artist, technologist, and writer. A seasoned leader in AI and technology, he most recently served as Vice President of AI and Robotics at Cruise, a leading autonomous vehicle company. As an artist, Haq draws on his expertise in machine learning and photography to train his own AI using flawed and incomplete data. His work reveals how classifying people based on traces of their online behavior generates distorted representations—skewed by incomplete, inaccurate, or biased data and algorithms. His Human Trials series presents portraits of people who do not exist: distorted echoes of archetypes that hover somewhere between #EdvardMunch and #FrancisBacon.

Why is the Centre opening with an Ai show?
For Roger Ballen, “AI is transforming photography and many other fi elds, raising urgent creative and ethical questions. That’s why we’re launching with this show. We want to confront these issues head-on—and set a tone of relevance and reflection from the start.”
During the opening week, Boris Eldagsen will give lectures on the difference between photography and promptography.
