My martial arts journey started with Reiss almost a decade ago at the Fight Hub. I got dragged to 2 or 3 ladies MMA classes & hated every minute. I wasn't fit enough, I didn't know what I was doing, & I didn't really want to be there. Towards the end of 2024 I went to a 6am gi class, not even really knowing what jiujitsu was. 2 weeks later I entered a sub only no gi tournament (not knowing any submissions 😅) & somehow never lost momentum. I'm still unfit, I still don't know what I'm doing, but my attitude has changed a lot. 20 months of getting battered 298 group classes at HQ 70 hours of open mats 20 PTs 8 classes at other gyms 11 seminars 4 notebooks full cryptic scribbles & working shit out 5 IBJJF tournaments 3 sub only tournaments 2 sub only superfights Up in weight for 12 matches Down in age for 21 matches Won 10 medals (2🥉, 5🥈, 3🥇), 2 trophy's, & a sub bonus 💰 Thanks everyone who's helped me survive being a whitebelt & an extra big thank you to Dan for teaching me most of what I know, taking me to comps, always being kind and patient when explaining things for the 100th time, & giving the support I needed so I didn't actually quit any of the times it seriously crossed my mind. You're a legend & I'm very grateful for all you've done ☺️ Thanks Grindhouse, Rollers Yorkshire, BOM, Sakura, & 10P for making me feel welcome, giving me a safe space to learn new things, & giving me the chance to meet some lovely people in the process Chuffed with my bluebelt 🙂 Onwards & upwards! Had so much fun representing @immortalmmatamworth at @valhalla_submission_grappling_ Didn't take home any bling but I got the tough, active match I wanted, & had so much fun. In the end my inexperience & tiredness led to some bad decisions. Happy enough with my progress to give myself the grace of not dismantling my performance. Yesterday was my Valhalla debut. The match was originally offered to my blue belt training buddy who responded with something along the lines of "fuck that, can't you promote Faith & she can do it?" 😂 Long hard rounds are my favourite so I jumped at the chance to do a sub only ruleset & was so happy when the match was confirmed. Perhaps the coolest experience as a white belt to date. So grateful for the opportunity. Thanks Valhalla! If you told me at the end of 2024 I'd be competing at all, let alone holding my own against someone who's got a coloured belt older than my entire jiujitsu journey, I'd have been sceptical but I've grown a lot in that time & I've learnt we shouldn't put limitations on ourselves. Knowing my opponent was way more experienced & that I likely wouldn't win, removed aaaaall pressure & allowed me to achieve my only goal going into this: enjoy myself. I definitely had fun, didn't even feel nervous, & with the protection of God I stepped off the mats completely unharmed, woke today without a single ache, & I'm able to return to training as normal like nothing ever happened. Proud of all my sub attempts, how I reversed bad positions, & felt safe working out of every sticky spot... before running into a triangle because I was getting tired 🤦🏻‍♀️ Some rookie mistakes, some unhinged attempts, but also a lot of progress. Onwards & upwards 💪🏻 Congratulations to Maria on her win. As someone who moves like an old man, I was amazed at her flexibility & was stumped several times with how to navigate such bendy legs 😄 She was super tough & also super kind - thank you for that. This year has shown me more than ever what is achievable with the right people around you. Wouldn't have got through half the madness I have this year without a solid team of maniacs beside me. It's been A LOT. Overjoyed to end 2025 on a lighter tone, with a new name, a completely new life, and hopefully so much more positivity on the horizon ❤️ Anyone struggling, keep going, it gets better 🫶🏻

🥈 Silver at my weight 🥇 Gold in absolute 🤯 Met & fought some lovely people. Cheered for, fought, & shared a podium with my friend (ily @luciealanis ). 1st time doing so many matches in a day & 1st time doing absolute. Knew what I wanted to do and stuck to it. Did some silly whitebelt shit but learnt a lot, hussled for what I wanted, and achieved my goal of the day: whatever happens, don't be hard on myself Thanks @rjonesimmortal for everything. You do so much for all of us 💛 thanks to all the Immortals who came to cheer everyone on & for getting me through that last 50 seconds where I just needed to hang in there. Thanks to all the lovely ladies I met yesterday who made it such a positive experience & putting themselves out there so we can all have the opportunity to learn and better ourselves 🩷. After a series of unexpected, highly unlikely events, myself and @kristin.hawkins of @sma_starkeymartialarts were matched up to compete at @immortal_submission_series_ a week before the event, which happened 13th July. Kristin was a great sport and I'm excited to train with her in the future. Thank you Kristin, for making this happen. I feel like if me & Jo went to school together, we'd be those two who are always separated because they're constantly giggling/ distracted/ distracting others Doesn't matter whether we're training together, competing against each other, or hanging out inbetween, it's always smiles.
