Sometimes we get so caught up in the work that we forget to step back and look at what we’re actually doing. Getting to draw a character I loved as a kid is surreal; I’m officially part of the world I used to imagine while playing with my Thundercats toys! Im very grateful to be able to draw comics for a living, and thankful to everyone that has supported me through this journey!

Starting in April, I’m overseeing a proper old-fashioned CROSSOVER EVENT featuring the THUNDERCATS and the SILVERHAWKS! Three titles interconnecting over five months, to tell a 15-part story, all published by Dynamite.
Y’got THUNDERCATS X SILVERHAWKS #1, written & drawn by Declan Shalvey, colors by Igor Monti, letters by Jeff Eckleberry, packaged & edited by Nate Cosby (who is me).
Then there’s MUMM-RA THE EVER-LIVING, written by Declan Shalvey, art by Rapha Lobosco, colors by Roshan Kurichiyanil, letters by Jeff Eckleberry, packaged & edited by Nate Cosby (still me).
And THUNDERHAWKS, written by Ed Brisson, art by Vincenzo Federici, colors by Robby Bevard, letters by Jeff Eckleberry, packaged & edited (inevitably) by Nate Cosby (moi).
Been quite a while since I felt like putting together a buncha books that interconnect…it’s fun, but a massive logistical thundertask to keep all the trains running on tracks that are sometimes parallel, but then go all swishy and criss-cross each other. But the idea of combining the TCats and SHawks was too tempting to resist. It’s very much a “styles make fights” sorta story, where you figure out real quick what the two teams have in common, and where they differ. And by “differ,” I mean, “wanna beat the holy mother-loving hellfire outta each other."
Anyhow…lotsa more info to come! Gonna be super-fun.
Last week was the release of Thundercats Lost #10, the final issue of our run with these characters. I want to take this post to say how incredibly lucky I am to have had the opportunity to help shape the Thundercats universe at Dynamite and to work with some incredible people.
The Thundercats were a big part of my childhood. I used to watch the cartoons and even draw my own stories as a kid, so being able to create characters, revisit old ones, and be part of this universe means a lot to me. I’m grateful to everyone who read and supported our journey through those 10 issues. I’m thankful to all the people who helped make those 10 issues happen. I also can’t thank enough @ed_brisson , @artofroshan , @natecosboom , @jeffeckleberry , Declan and so many others.
I’m fortunate to be working in comics, and especially to be working on characters I love alongside people I consider friends. Thank you all! I can’t wait to share what’s next with you.
