An abstracted take on a simple routine ☕️✨
Last week I had the chance to visit @worldofcoffeeusa thanks to @alexandernolson and @maecoffeeroasters . I had never been to an expo like this before so I took it as an opportunity to shoot something new and different. After doing so, I made prints and gave them away whoever I met at the conference.
Still life isn’t something I usually find myself shooting but always enjoy it when I do.
@itslanirose for his new single “Talking to a dove” 🕊️
Every once in a while as a photographer, you shoot a photo that reminds you of why you shoot in the first place. One that stops you after shooting and feels like magic. This was one of those photos for me. Lani and I both felt it in the moment and immediately felt the joy in the fact that we didn’t even plan a composition like this. And how we shot it in camera with no AI. It was such a beautiful moment and it was only right for this to be the start of his Album rollout.
To add to the feeling, I used an old Polaroid composite technique I used to use a lot in collage. Which includes a lot of scanning and reprinting to give the painterly effect that would match the subject matter. Special thanks to the team at @anotherland and @xan.griffin for trusting the process.

Honored to share my photo of @partytime.pup , taken at the @sixtymileseast opening reception, has been selected for this year’s @american_photography_winners AP42 Award book!
This photo comes from one of my favorite shoots of last year. A pop up portrait studio, set up at the opening reception of @sixtymileseast . A gallery showcasing the underground punk scene in Riverside, back in the 90’s. This exhibit brought more people (and dogs) together than any other event in Riverside I’ve seen. To have a part of it be featured in a book like this means a ton.
Special thanks to @riversidermag@zachcordner@riversiderken for the opportunity, as well as the jury and the team at @american_photography_winners for including me in this year’s book.
