Paper on Skin has officially opened registrations for their International Workshop Series 🌍 🪡 Erica Spitzer Rasmussen (USA) specialises in wearable paper art, hand papermaking and bookbinding.Her career includes residencies across Europe and Mexico, and her work has featured in leading publications such as FiberArts, Surface Design Journal, American Craft and Hand Papermaking. 📌 Erica will be presenting two, 2-day workshops in Tasmania. 📌 Workshop 1: Neckwear Workshop | 5–6 October Create striking, sculptural neckwear using commercial papers. Students will learn how to craft intricate Flemish ruffs with a punching-and-stringing technique. Different methods of paper bead-making will also be covered. 📌 WORKSHOP 2: Sculptural Book Workshop | 7 & 8 October 🪡 Push beyond the traditional notion of the book! Using a variety of papers, students will learn to create colourful, sculptural books. Participants will create two custom-designed book forms: a drum leaf binding and a book-ring binding. ✅ Students will leave with at least two distinctive book works. ⚡️ Places are limited and our workshops sell out every year - secure yours early. 🙏 This workshop series is assisted by Arts Tasmania. 🙏 With thanks to Hot Tomato Press and venue partner RANT arts 🙏 Paper on Skin™ major partner Devonport City Council

🚨 Quick Response Grants now open 🚨 Tasmanian artists, arts workers and organisations can apply for a Quick Response Grant through the Regional Arts Fund. These grants support professional development and small arts projects that need to happen quickly and cannot wait for other funding rounds. Funding of up to $3,000 for individuals and $5,000 for organisations is available, with regular rounds held throughout the year.
