San Francisco can be such a beautiful city. The sheer variety in a relatively small area is absolutely wild!
I've only moved here a few months ago and I've already seen so many cool things and met some nice people. I live in the middle of the city so each week I just pick a different direction to go and just explore. It's a big change of pace for me, definitely way outside of my comfort zone but I feel like moving here was so worth it

Bhangra and Beats in San Francisco!
The first event of the year went down on this past week in May and it was absolutely wild! So many people dancing and having fun, with awesome music and performances!
This video is just a small amount of the energy and excitement, it's absolutely amazing to see so many people come together to dance to punjabi music (and with awesome remixes)!

Also it’s tricky in SF, because of the hills and buildings, not all places get that light, and it depends in the time of year, not to mention the fog lol. On clear days, the beaches or around the bridge are perfect locations!

Summer in SF! (When it's not foggy 🤣)
I love hanging around the beach and water, there is always an awesome view or some cute dog running around lol. Also I especially love watching the light reflect off the surface, or finding a cool silhouette by lining up the sun just right.
It honestly takes a lot of patience for me waiting for a sunny day in the city, I just don't vibe with cloudy days when I want to photo/film stuff. But when I see other people take cool foggy shots I'm like okay maybe I do like that look 🤣 but then I change my mind again last second lol

I moved to San Francisco a year ago to break out of my routine and to practice video stuff. I didn't think I would enjoy living here, I've never been a city person nor someone who regularly goes out and does things lol. I wanted a change and after a lot of back and forth I decided to move to SF.
Since then I've been regularly filming random events or cool locations around the city and I've made so many new friends (both in person and through Instagram) and reconnected with old friends. I've been practicing filming and editing non stop for a while now and it's really cool looking back to see how I've improved.
Unfortunately I lost my job months ago, typical tech startup stuff, and the interview process has been tough also so I've decided to move home for a bit (already more or less moved out at the time of this post). I tried to hang out with folks while I could but couldn't get to everyone, however I'll be around every so often and might move back one day.
I've been meaning to make a video like this, featuring myself and my friends, along with some more story or voice over (need to work on my voice acting 🤣). I still have a ton of footage from around SF so when I start editing again I'll probably just make more SF videos for a while until I figure out the more narrative stuff I want to try. Everyone's journey is different and hopefully my luck turns around.
I want to say thanks to everyone, and I hope I was able to spread a little bit of the joy that I try to capture in my videos. I hope to continue to work towards making longer narrative videos along with smaller videos as well like I've been doing but in more places
When the weather is good, I love to just explore around, and I always end up being drawn to 3 things to get fun footage of: the bridge, people dancing, and dogs 🤣

It's honestly so fun to just walk around and find things happening and meeting people and getting them to help film a random shot or two! Planning scenes like these out would be so much harder than just finding them out and about lol but it's certainly good practice
