The celebrations for the Class of 2026 have begun! Today the seniors walked through the entire campus, from Lower School to Upper School and greeting their families at the end of the walk. It's a beautiful way to start a week of celebrations with a goodbye to Ranney!
In first grade library class, students have been reflecting on their year learning to read. They used scrap paper collected throughout the year to make self-portraits of themselves holding their favorite independent reading books.
Sixth grade students had a great time at Liberty Science Center on Monday! They had time to explore the hands-on exhibits, and went from tech-creators programming and wiring 3D-printed eyes, to space travelers in the planetarium.
Thank you @oncebittendonutsredbank for donating donuts to the Middle School Student Council donut sale! The students were able to raise $220 for the state charity, @@crisisresponsecanines !
The Class of 2026 attended their last Upper School Town Hall today before gathering in front of the GPA to take the traditional "Senior Sweatshirt Photo" where students can celebrate where their academic journeys will take them next. After photos, the students enjoyed lunch on the Alumni Patio as they get ready to join the ranks of Ranney alumni!
Brooks Chandler '27 earned a State Proclamation for his project Hope in Dark Light, presented by Assemblywoman Donlon. Hope in Dark Light is an initiative created and led by Brooks, which gives survivor families a relaxed, welcoming environment to simply enjoy time together. The thoughtfully planned event with a trauma-informed approach emphasizes choice, ease, and a positive shared experience. The first event was held in March at the Basie Center Cinema House and included more than 45 guests.
After reading The Outsiders in English class, the 7th grade had a grade level breakfast yesterday, watched The Outsiders movie, and then went to see it on Broadway. Students dressed as a Soc or a Greaser.
