“NOT INSTANT”
These images are not fixed to a single moment.
The exposure is allowed to continue, so the frame holds more than one instance of the subject.
Movement remains. Expressions overlap.
What appears as distortion is simply time being recorded differently.
Each image carries a brief duration within it.
It is this that defines the work in this series.

•RAHUL RAM•
There’s a steady confidence in the way Rahul Ram holds the stage. Every frame in this carousel carries that same calm, effortless presence. It was one of the cleanest sets I shot that night.
With this, I present the final carousel in my unofficial but hopeful photographer application. HR, I’m ready.

Presenting my Series of Indian Ocean’25
7 Nov 2025
This night was special in every way. The sound, the crowd, the colours, the rush. Watching them perform live on our campus made the whole experience feel even more personal, like the music belonged exactly where we were standing.
This poster brings all of it together and sets the tone for the entire series.
And just to make it very clear, this entire project is my sincere application to be Indian Ocean’s photographer.
Photographs & Design both by yours truly.

•AMIT KILAM•
Photographing Amit Kilam felt like trying to catch pure movement. Every slide in this carousel has a different burst of energy, a different expression, a different spark. He doesn’t sit still, and that’s exactly what makes these frames come alive.
This is Carousel 4 in my ongoing attempt to become their photographer.

•NIKHIL RAO•
With Nikhil Rao, the music shows up before the moment does. Every angle in this carousel happened because he was completely lost in his groove, and the camera simply followed. These are the kind of honest, unplanned frames you get only when someone is truly in their world.
Submitting this as Carousel 3 in my photographer application dossier.

•HIMANSHU JOSHI•
Shooting Himanshu Joshi felt like chasing emotion across the stage. Every slide in this carousel holds a different shade of his voice, a new expression, a new mood. His presence makes the frame move even when he’s standing still.
Consider this Carousel 2 of my unofficial “please hire me as your photographer” campaign.

•TUHEEN CHAKRAVARTY•
Photographing Taheen Chakravorty was all about timing. Every frame in this carousel came from a different rhythm he created on stage, each one with its own pulse. There’s a quiet steadiness to him that’s genuinely beautiful to capture.
Also yes, this is Carousel 1 in my quiet-but-consistent application to become Indian Ocean’s photographer.
