I’m so delighted to share this podcast project that’s been a work-in-progress for the last 6 months!
23 years ago I met Cedric. We became high school sweethearts at Seventh-Day Adventist boarding school. He introduced me to musical theatre. We would eventually come out to each other as queer and even considered marrying each other as an option for remaining “good Christians.”
We prayed with each other, loved each other, created art with each other, and eventually supported each other as we left the faith we were raised in.
Cedric was the best man at my wedding to Brit. I’ve given up trying to write this without tears of gratitude that I’ve gotten to have such a curious, creative, interesting, bold, wise, and ever-growing friend. We’ve seen each other through countless breakdowns and evolutions. In this podcast, we unpack what it was like growing up inside a fundamentalist faith. We revisit the questions that transformed our worldview, share how we made sense of life after leaving the Adventist church, and discovered a path grounded in curiosity, joy, and chosen family.
We have an incredible team in @jaredwrightart and @ryanweadon . I’m so honored to have their skills and care as part of this.

I haven’t posted myself singing online in probably 12 or 13 years. I’m training, putting together audition recordings, and feeling more and more creative after the pandemic and struggling with my health for a couple of years. Getting to do plays has been wonderful but musicals have my heart and I’m trying to worm my way back in 🪱 🎶
For a few brief moments I did some pretty things. The rest of the time I muddled through. These classes are worth two hours in the car every time! @ultraviolet_x_@3d_fitness_movement
