Later on March 28th @ 4 PM at Green Light Cinema 🟢, come check out a double feature documentary and a short narrative. Directed by Ramon Te Wake, Trans And Pregnant is a thought provoking and inspiring documentary about two men who are on a journey to parenthood. Not by adoption or surrogacy, but by Frankie, a trans man, carrying the baby. A short narrative, also directed by Ramon Te Wake, Wait, Wait, Now! When best friends are left at home for the night, they do what all teenage boys do. A beautifully made short documentary, MĀHŪ: A Trans Pacific Love Letter, about an innovative theater production by master hula teacher, Kumu Hula Patrick Makuakane, which aims to reclaim and celebrate the traditional place of honor and respect given to mahu (transgender) people. The concept of gender fluidity from a Native Hawaiian perspective is explored in a multi-media stage performance featuring acclaimed transgender artists such as Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu, Iwalani Ho’omanawanui Apo, and Kaumakaiwa Kanaka’ole. 🎟️TIGLFF.COM/EVENTS🎟️ Purchase your tickets now by checking out the Films story highlight 🎟️ #TIGLFF #TransFilmFestival #filmtampabay #documentary #LGBTQCinema

Today marks the 3-year anniversary of The Boy, The Queen And Everything In Between, being out into the world. We are so proud of this series for many reasons - it highlighted the drag/queen community, it encouraged the power of healing between fathers and sons. It celebrated trans identities, family, love, the importance of acceptance and sisterhood. The amazing cast truly embodied the characters in an authentic, purposeful and respectful way - the crew were masterful and poured their heart and soul into the project and many people have told me that the series is a comfort watch for them, which is pretty special! As we continue to get it out in to the world in various ways, series 1 can still watched on TVNZ on demand. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and watch this gem. Happy anniversary The Boy, The Queen And Everything In Between ❤️
