Universal was the first lot I ever stepped on with my father when i was young. Even though I never been, it was already familiar. Dad secretly prepped me for a day I'd never forget.
The mystery of finding where the Delorean was hiding, when the Red Seas was going to part, are we going to get burned from the flames of Backdraft and the anticipation if Jaws, Kong or a T-Rex were going too eat us. Where TF is E.T.?!
Seeing this is where all the movies we loved and lived was amazing. Although the lot has changed a bit, the heart is still beating here.
Decades later, I would get to come back and tell my Dad that I was on the back lot! Not as a tourist, but as a filmmaker.
I think he always knew I'd end up in this beautiful chaotic world. Pseudo followed your same passion by accident.
I owe my creativity, my curiosity, and my wonder to him. His unbound patience (especially with me) always found the perfect moment when he was creating. May it be cooking, making a Christmas writh, or just observing the world. He could create something out of nothing. Something I still try to emulate every day.
Thank you for always guiding me, not giving up on me, and mostly just being my Dad.
Although you are gone, I'll always see you in the mirror and how I navigate the world. But especially every time I step on this lot. I'll remember you, our
found memories and what propelled me into my life.
