When we talk about islands, we often think of distance.
For us at Calls Over Ridges Philippines, islands are communities of learners, families, and young people shaped by their access to education 📚🌱
Since 2023, we’ve worked with partners and communities to turn collaboration into action. In island schools, we see youth finding their voices and inspiring others to believe in education and support it 💬✨
This is tatak CORPH. We choose to listen, work alongside communities, and invest in education that lasts.
Patuloy nating pag-iisahin ang bawat isla para sa iisang pangandoy. Kalidad at makabuluhang edukasyon para sa bawat bata 💙🇵🇭📘
Special Thanks:
Salamat to @saltystudiosph for bringing this year’s Impact Video to life, and to @goingmaryiao / @mariatokong.iao – of Siargao Island People’s Association (SIPA), for the beautiful song “Isla Bayuron,” inspired by island stories.
To all the youths, teachers, nanays and tatays, this is for you! 💙

Some journeys stay with us forever. Amo ene an amo kaagi suyod sa tuyo (3) ka-tuig kaiban an Sitio Liaonan. And it lives in our hearts. ✨💙
Like our school boat bus crossing the open sea each day, this journey has had its calm mornings and its fierce, unforgiving storms. There were days when the waves felt too big—as if the dream might not make it across. But the community did what it has always done: padayon. Keep going. Keep hoping.
From just 20 young learners to almost 45 students today, with 11 ISIP scholars and college dreamers—including Nanay Jen herself—Sitio Liaonan reminds us what happens when a community refuses to give up on its children.
A place once being served is now serving others.
This is what @callsoverridges@callsoverridgesphilippines believes in: that hope can rise even in the smallest islands, that communities can lead their own transformation, and that children can dream beyond the horizon.
Salamat karajaw, Sitio Liaonan. Sa inyong kusog, grit, ug pagtoo. Lajo pa, pero lajo na. ✨
This season reminds us that the greatest gifts aren’t found in boxes—they are found in people, in communities, and in the bright, hopeful eyes of children who dare to dream.
Padajun kita sa ato paglawig sa dagat malinaw man o jaoy bagjo pasingud sa kaugmaon diin an kada bata jaoy higayon na makatindog sanan makalampos.
A merry Christmas from Sitio Liaonan to wherever you are! 🎄✨
Today, we opened a new home for Calls Over Ridges Philippines — and it feels like walking straight into a dream we once whispered into life. 🌿✨
In 2022, I had two paths in front of me, go back home for stability, or stay in Siargao with nothing but a dream and a hope that somehow it would matter.
I chose Siargao.
I chose uncertainty.
I chose the dream.
But the truth is — this dream only survived because of YOU.
Our partners.
Our community leaders.
Our youth champions.
The families who welcomed us.
The children whose laughter keeps us going.
We’ve stumbled and shifted, faced challenges and misunderstandings… yet we always found our way back to one truth - We are here for the youth and for the nation. 🇵🇭
From one project coordinator to a full team.
From one community to thirteen.
From a small idea to programs built on hope, collaboration, and shared responsibility.
Today is more than an office warming.
It is a celebration of faith, community, and the belief that no island learner should ever be left behind.
Salamat karajaw sa pagtaya!
This home is yours as much as it is ours.
Lagi’t lagi at muli’t muli, Para sa bata. Para sa bayan. 💙✨
Enjoy our vignette featuring our collaborator Ram Jaylo. It was a pleasure getting to know Ram and hear about the differences he is making in his community. Thank you Ram for sharing your story and striving towards creating positive change.
“Why I keep coming back to Halian, is really Halian, the community, and its people. I am doing all the things that I could for Halian because I want to help the community and I think the best way that I can is through providing educational support.”
Meet Ram Jaylo, a dedicated Filipino local who has been supporting the communities in the Philippines for many years. He is an activist and NGO volunteer, and he devotes much of his time to advocacy and outreach for his organization @callsoverridgesphilippines . Ram served as our collaborator and translator during our production in the Philippines, and he is a guiding light within the communities he reaches.

Aren't you tired of the grueling journeys to the last mile islands? Aren't the waves too rough? The wind too strong? What if you get stuck? What if the boat capsizes? Do you know how to swim?

Beyond the Fall ✨🧡
You’ve always poured your heart into doing your best, consistently placing others before yourself. But then, one moment of vulnerability, your flawed self took over—your thoughts, your actions, your very essence. And suddenly, you start to question:
Why does judgment, especially self-judgment, feel so swift and merciless? Why do we crucify ourselves for simply being human? Aren’t we all works in progress, inherently imperfect?
I hope you realize that one mistake does not define you. You possess the strength to move forward, to hold onto the hope that one day, you’ll grow, heal, and come out stronger.
And if you are lucky enough to have someone who understands you—someone who forgives you, again and again, until you’re strong enough to start anew—hold on to them. Because ultimately, we all need a little grace to find our way back to ourselves.
