Here are some photos from my recent bike pilgrimage to Greece… enjoy
3 weeks ago I arrived home after cycling from my Hometown Horsham, to the city Thessaloniki in Greece. My friend Malachi and I set off on the 3rd of June, down to the Newhaven ferry port and into Dieppe, France. From there we cycled towards Belgium, through Germany and up the Austrian Alps. Passing through the mountains was a major point in the trip in many ways. Reaching 2500m by bike was possibly the biggest achievement of my life, it really changed my perspective on things (as you could imagine).
Passing down the alps we entered Italy, then down into Croatia, through the Balkans and finally into Greece.
Throughout the trip we encountered so many kind and helpful people.. it really gave me faith in humanity aha. To those we met, your hospitality and kindness will be forever cherished and I wish you all the best.
Doing this trip gave me the time and space to really reflect and re-evaluate what’s important to me.
I’m now rooting for my travel partner Malachi as he continues to cycle solo through Turkey and eventually to Australia. I’m truly grateful for this experience, it’s taught me so much about myself and the world. I really couldn’t have done it without Malachi so go check out his instagram where’s he’s documenting his journey.
