Yesterday my students surprised me with two gigantic baskets of gifts that they bought or handmade. These students spent their hard earned money, spent time that they should’ve been using to finish their assignments as the semester wound down, to surprise me with heartfelt gifts for my baby. I was moved to tears. Books that inspired them to get into makeup, a Pennywise rubber ducky, hand knit blankets, hand written notes, bottles, toys, games, you name it.
Tuesdays were 14hr days for me. Cp24 then over to Sheridan to teach them for 6 hours. Some of them I’ve taught for the past YEAR. They’ve seen me go from being engaged to married to now having my first baby. I love them like they’re my own children and I’ll never be able to properly thank them for this. I am so grateful. Each one of them is so talented, so kind and thoughtful and I am so beyond proud of every single one of them. @juliapatersonnn , thank you for organizing this and to all of the students that contributed, a deeply heartfelt thank you. I am going to have a once in a lifetime cry now as I read your letters.
