Tinge is in the world! An unusually colorful performance arpeggiator 🎨 made by @rainbow.circuit and I.
Recognizing there’s no one way to navigate notes. Our approach thru the metaphor of a color wheel, opacity controls velocity and MPE pressure.
VST3/AU for all your DAWs.
Link in bio and so much more to share soon!
Using my friend @rainbow.circuit ‘s Peaks with Waymaker sequencing. Peaks is a nice resonator which can get gnarly quickly. Here I’m just sending a drum beat into it, and sequencing it semi-randomly. Instant thriller soundtrack.

Thank you all for your patience!
And thank you as well for the feature requests, bug reports, and the “here’s how I used Motherly in my track” stories.
Motherly 1.1 features:
• A new step sequencer — including direction changes, step-count limiting, and swing.
• Per-step muting — for more intricate rhythms and less ear fatigue.
• Window resizing — for when you want more Motherly per pixel.
It really does take a village just to nudge the decimal point from 1.0 to 1.1.
a bit of a crossover post — when not tinkering here at rainbow circuit, i am often teaching over at @epdberklee where i am an assistant professor.
myself and ryan (who made Sands) were recipients of a fellowship from the college this year — and we took it upon ourselves to build an FM synthesizer plug-in, not for the seasoned sound designer but for the still-learning students.
we have a public beta test workshop, the first rainbow circuit event ! if you’re in new england or work in music education, we’d love to see you 🪶
Introducing Motherly, a percussion synthesizer with an eight step sequencer, and a semi-modular patch bay.
Coming to the DAW of your choice on June 24, 2025.
