(Portfolio) mistakes were made!! Everybody tells you to fill your portfolio with the kind of work you want to get hired to do, but I find itās easy to lose sight of that idea.
One thing Iād love to do is illustrate chapter books and middle reader fiction, and my portfolio does not really reflect that (yet). Oops!

No more business cards! Iām over them!! What about a nice bookmark instead? Or some other object of use?
I mashed up and edited a few of my favorite things I drew last year and printed up some new bookmarks to hand out at fairs and networkingy things and I think they turned out great woohoo!
10/10 recommend doing this if u do any kind of visual work :)

Went to a life drawing session and after drawing the model, I drew some characters Iām working on in the same pose. This really helped me work out how some of these little guys want to move, bend, twist, etc. Also it was fun!

When Iām my own client, I spend way too much time waffling around with all the possible directions to go in.
This time, I kept it moving by drawing something else for a while. It helped but itās not not a form of procrastination.
