Happy (first) Mother’s Day to the most incredible partner, friend, lover, woman, and mom I’ve ever known. Nine months of being sick every single day paid off. You brought the most beautiful, loving (and slightly crazy) little creature into the world. Congrats, and thank you. Thank you for redefining this day for me. For the past three years, Mother’s Day had been a painful experience. But now it’s about celebrating again.

One of the hardest things I do in life is to stay away from my brothers. It’s something I get reminded of everyday, but it’s only when we manage to spend some time together that I realize how fucking hard it is to actually not have them around. It’s a pain and a joy all at once cause at the same time it hurts, I also get reminded everyday of how much I actually love these two. Cherish your ride or dies.
Looking inside, I see. Life is nothing but a sequence of fortunes and miracles. Each one of us, held together with spit and wire and whatever spiritual powers we choose to bluetooth our bodies with. Being alive is so weird and wonderful and scary and silly. That’s what art feels like, no? To be insignificant and superhero at the same time is hilarious. Deep dive the mind and explore the landscape. There’s nothing we can’t handle by ourselves. There’s nothing more powerful than sharing your dreams with the people you love. Give into it. Love. Later is later, now is now.

There was no one around. Just you and me and the waves crashing behind us. There were no fancy vows, no special promises or rehearsed speeches. Just the most beautiful serenity and the smile on our faces. You asked me to never let go of your hand. I asked you if you wanted to go on a wild ride that lasts forever. And what a ride it has been. Following our hearts, trusting, feeling, flowing. Just like a river. Yesterday we were serenaded front row by our guy Leon, how special and fitting.
