It’s not just our venue on Hallgarth Street that is steeped in history 📚
Dong Po Pork traces its story back nearly 1,000 years to the Song Dynasty and the famous Chinese poet and governor Su Dongpo. Legend says that while governing the city of Hangzhou, he shared his method for slowly braising pork belly in soy sauce, Shaoxing wine and sugar - creating a dish so rich and tender it quickly became beloved by locals.
Over time the recipe became known as Dong Po Pork, in honour of the man behind it.
Slow braised, beautifully rich and packed with deep flavour, this historic classic is available on our à la carte menu.

A fall off the bone favourite ❣️
Our Special Peking Spare Ribs are slow-cooked until the pork falls effortlessly from the bone, then coated in a rich plum sauce that’s sweet, savoury and packed with depth.
Try them on your next visit. Book a table via the link in our bio.
