Finally getting around to posting 3-D Artโs fantasy masks projects! Students were tasked in creating their own characters, including an entire background and storyline. Students then created their masks using any mediums. Some used felt, clay, while others beaded or sewed. These came out STELLAR!!
A few of 3-Dโs non-objective sculptures! Artists had to pick something from nature and then use that as inspiration for their color palette and pattern. ๐ฅ

Middle School Art just finished their Henri Matisse paper cut out landscapes! Artists had to pick a place meaningful to them and create a landscape that illustrates that. ๐
Photo 1 made cyanotypes! ๐ We discussed the early processes of photography which included printing on paper using light sensitive chemicals. Cyanotypes get its name from the blue color it produces. Cyanotypes were used by scientists like Anna Atkins for recording different plant species or for architects constructing buildings using blueprints. ๐ฉต Students brushed solution on watercolor paper - let it dry - then placed objects on top in direct sunlight for a few minutes. Once itโs placed in a water bath and dried you get a permanent image!

3-D has been working hard on coral reefs sets for the Finding Nemo musical. They turned out SO GOOD! ๐ฅ Go see it November 6-8!
