The soul of Hamari Ramleela lives in its music. ♥️
The music and original score were created by Jayant Bhai
@r_jayant , one of the purest and most intuitive artists I have had the honour of working with. With 8 original songs and a sweeping, immersive score, he gave the film a sound that truly breathes.
Asheesh Bhai
@asheesh05 and Hansraj ji
@hansrajdevmusic lent their playful voice to the songs, adding just the right emotional texture they needed. And because everyone on this team wears multiple hats, even our director
@vashishtha_rinku stepped behind the mic and sang one song himself.
What makes this album special is not just the music. It is the journey. We began with 4 original songs, while the remaining portions were supported by Bollywood tracks. Then came the defining challenge. We had to create 4 brand new songs from scratch in just 3 days. The earlier songs had taken months. Now we had only 72 hours.
It was overwhelming. It was terrifying. Yet it was the greatest creative opportunity. So while the world celebrated Diwali with lights and firecrackers, we celebrated in studios, in drafts, in rewrites, and in sleepless nights.
For me personally, writing all 8 songs of the film was an absolute honour and oh, so much fun. It was also delicate work. With a subject rooted in Ramleela, it was easy to drift into religious or political tones. So we walked carefully. We wrote and rewrote. We questioned ourselves. And we found our way back, again and again, to the human core of the story.
When the appreciation finally came on stage, it was impossible not to get emotional. Jayant Bhai, Hansraj ji and Asheesh Bhai, you are the backbone of this soundscape. Goddamn magicians!
What an experience! Sita ke Laundo ne toh sach me Lanka laga di. ✨
