Mixed media collage Paper, acrylic paint , photography 73.5 x 45cm 03/2026 Directly inspired by the half face mash up meme of xxxtentacion + queen Elizabeth 2. I shot the shooting target with a semi automatic AR-15. Memes + clip farming + reaction gifs showcase black ppl in distress. Kendrick Lamar’s scream in ‘To pimp a butterfly’ , Tyrese crying about losing his daughter , Rocky Lockridges crying - all turnt into a running joke. These examples show context of their emotions is removed , it’s shared amongst masses but their pain + distress is never acknowledged in the digital reposting of their bodies . The person behind image is rendered into a graphic , a non-living being , imprisoned to performing that one moment forever. Perhaps , a digital minstrel. An existence reliant on entertaining at their own expense. USA is a cultral epicentre, black American culture is American culture yet black ppl are murdered en masse . Social death is inflicted on them through systems such as the prison industrial complex . This system is continuation of slave labour as prisoners often made to work 4 little 2 no pay , locked behind doors with restricted access to the outside world. Organised abandonment e.g. redlining. Grooming of black bodies to join military industrial complex , to escape impoverished social conditions that are a direct result of slavery. Generates revenue through the looting of resources from the lands that the imperial military invades. The purchasing of military equipment needed to upkeep an army, helps maintain the economy that is the military industrial complex. The UK is not much different. This predominantly revolves around the US + UK. 2 nations, cut from the same cloth, culturally dominant + hegemonic. Despite, black British + black American ppl existing oceans away, suffering with similar fates. Blood + turmoil in the extraction of cobalt, copper + coltan within Congo. Sudan is a major supplier of gold. Materials required for electronic devices. Bodies used as collateral damage to gain access to materials. Necropolitics is enforced for us within West to use our devices + reshare memes of black bodies being digital slaves. Money = black death.

“But I want to make ur kitty purr too” Digital collage 04/2026 This art work has incorporated images of myself in a giant vulva costume I wore as a performance art piece. I wanted to create dialogue around people’s attitudes to sexual organs that are often unnecessarily sexualised . The screenshots in my art work include conversations I had with a man I matched with on hinge from the beginning, to the end of January. I had to block him for reasons made quite obvious if u read the messages. I’ve chosen to redact his name, his profile picture + contact number cus that’s messy + I don’t want to be sued. Shaming him publicly won’t change him. This guy is a real sociology case study , showcasing the ramifications of what it means to grow up as a black man in the UK. This is what Franz Fanon warned us about in “Black Skin, White Faces”. Filled with contempt toward women, valid frustration related to racism , and an inferiority complex. Which is a lot coming from me. I’m not exactly the most normal person in the world ever. A dynamic that was doomed from the start, I am a working class trans person . Whereas he was a nouveau riche cis-man , raised on 4chan. It was evident that he resorted to conspicuous consumption , hence the mention of money. It was clear he used that as a way to combat the experiences of dehumanisation of predominantly white spaces. “But I want to make ur kitty purr too” was a response he gave me , after he accurately assessed that I seem to not have many friends. I made this artwork in relation to the “male loneliness epidemic” . It tends to become the job of those perceived as women to fix men + their emotional issues. In fixing men , women are typically abused and dehumanised . Within a racialised context (we’re both black), people are even less inclined to give an actual fuck about him treating me like this. I did try to help him. I do care about men , I see their pain + I relate to it. They hear , not listen, to me speak about my pain , ignore it and treat me like shit. As a trans person , I feel an affinity to masculinity despite being harmed by so many men. I can never bring myself to truly hate men. #hinge #datingstories #memeart

Not everything that glitters is gold Resin sculpture 05/2026 Resin, red + black dye , bullet shells, my hair , red acrylic paint , highlighter makeup ——- I wanted to make something that showcases the affects of jealousy + it acting as a rose tinted lense for those suffering with it, removing ones ability to see the full humanity in others Her face is distorted + disfigured , a metaphor for how femme’s bodies are mulitated under patriarchy Her mouth + hands run with blood because she never stops working Her insides exposed for all to gawk + see , take in the spectacle of a woman in distress + vulnerable Her mouth agape + wide in an uncanny manner, she speaks but is not listened to Her body penetrated with bullets , her autonomy is robbed as she exists under systems of domination She looks down as she is in a constant state of obedience + servitude Her foundation is rocky + unstable Seen as resilient + strong , how dare she bleeds + cries? She is young , attractive + fertile , what is there truly to complain about ? #manchesterart #gunstagram #resincrafts

Free Congo Digital collage 17/05/2026 Made this as a graphic to sell posters @peoplesletters , all funds raised will be donated to organisations supporting congo and its people ! I’ve made sure to tag numerous accounts who are advocating + supporting Congo + its people 2 things I love Congo + pen pixel graphic design , been thinking about how art can be used as activism + this is my attempt The graphic includes Patrice Lumumba , a revolutionary + former Prime Minister of DRC and the Congo basin rain forest as well as the La Sape who are a subculture within Congo known for wearing extravagant , tailored + vibrant clothing - it’s associated with working-class people overcoming political + economic hardship. The electronic watches + cars are a reference to the natural resources extracted from Congo , copper is taken from the Congo + used as wiring, the devices created are used as a source of fun for many ,but it comes at the cost of the Congolese people as extraction of its natural resources has led to conflict + genocide within the region, this benefits western nations the most ; who are the most protected from this violence #freecongo #activistart #penandpixel

Mop head Mixed media collage Black acrylic paint , cardboard, paper , metal earring , my dreadlocks , glue Size : 68.58 cm width x 71.12 cm length After a series of unfortunate events in 2024, I started to pull out my hair. You’d find my hair here, there , and everywhere , Leaving a mark of me ! Whilst looking in the mirror , in a state of disarray, I looked at my hair and started snipping. I snip, Snip, Snip, And , snip some more Until , there was hair no more. —- The last slide Includes the art work I originally began with , it is named “craniometry”, I applied black acrylic paint to my face and my dreadlocks , then I pressed it against the paper and this was the result Some time after this, I found a large cardboard box in my neighbours garden close to their bin , I cut it into this shape with a pair of kitchen scissors For awhile now, I have wanted to create bigger art work , I’m restricted due to being self funded and only having access to free A3 sized paper I get from printers , I used the cardboard as the backdrop , I used glue on the paper to create this backdrops i wanted to make a start contrast between the darkness and texture of my hair against the pale white paper I applied glue to hair that I pulled out of my scalp on to the canvas #manchesterart #hairart #afrosurrealism

Did a photoshoot with a friend and I decided to re- edited + re upload these pictures , I don’t like showing my face alongside my art on social media (I do it occasionally , but I enjoy concealing ,redacting parts of it, in some manner) I use to be a drag king , performance art showed me how people can become heavily invested into the likeness of an artist to the point it becomes dehumanising + inappropriate This decision to make a half hearted effort of concealing my face (there are numerous pictures of my face on my profile), coincindes with the name ‘Redacted’, I got the idea from experience I had from a former friend who went around telling people I had been sectioned whilst I was still in the psychiatric hospital , I decided to reclaim it and make it apart of my artist story but I wish that could’ve been kept more private Redacted is a pen name inspired by released + declassified CIA documents, an obscuring of sensitive details where public viewing is allowed whilst maintaining confidentiality, my pen name also pulls from patient confidentiality I share a lot of my personal life in my work, l use my life as an archive - My name is irrelevant, but I’m conscious of how ominous that name sounds so feel free to call me ‘bunny x’ if u see me around :) #afrosurrealism

Threat level 1000 Mixed media collage 13cm x 9cm 02/2026 Made this during a workshop called ‘Deconstructing Fanon’ with @advocacyacademy academy + I had a great time! I would NOT recommend being put under section 2&3 of the mental health act , after learning about Afro pessimism + the colonial history of western psychiatry BUT the up side is I know have lived experience of incarceration + I’m now a psychiatric survivor , I guess that gives me more lore ? It also helped further my understanding Foucault writing on madness in society and the Panopticon as well as being a complimentary experience to reading ‘the psychosis of whiteness’ by @kehindeandrews + Mad World The Politics of Mental Health by @micha_frazercarroll #mixedmediacollage #decolonizeyourmind #psychabolition #mentalhealthartists

Jesus was a Palestinian digital collage 05/2026 Hoping to make copies of these to sell at posters 4 Palestinian fundraisers but I don’t have access to ink jet printers (the woes of not being an art student), if u can help please let me know!! I’ve been thinking a lot about how we can humanise those experiencing genocides + wars , how do we avoid using their imagery for shock value + social gain? How can we effectively centre those most affected ? To answer this I made a pen and pixel cover art which pulls from numerous Palestinian motifs : • the olive tree •the nakba key symbol held by an older Palestinian woman •olive trees •children playing •Jesus Christ who I see as a revelatory figure according to the teachings of liberation theology , born in Palestine and who stood with the most oppressed members of society • tatreez pattern, used by Palestinian women + girls to decorate their thobe with symbols of history, memory+ place, it tells a the story of the maker’s life + her connection to the land As someone with Congolese heritage who’s people are also experiencing a genocide , as well as having numerous connections to numerous ppl who are Palestinian - it is a cause forever close to my heart, the bonds between black and Palestinian causes are very intertwined (let’s us not forget that Afro-Palestinians exist) Liberation theology is a concept founded by Peruvian priest + theologian Gustavo Gutiérrez which teaches the church has a duty to stand in solidarity with those subjected + oppressed , it must alleviate poverty therefore reflecting God’s justice in order to fundamentally change society #freepalestine🇵🇸 #penandpixel #digitalcollage #activistart

My people shall live digital collage 04/05/2026 I’ll be selling these prints @camp_club , all proceeds will go directly to a mother and her family in Gaza @zeinaandreem Made this with mothers and older women in mind , I had a conversation with a Palestinian person and they told me something that grounded me and was extremely sobering “some people feel like the world is ending, but for others , the world has already ended” , I’ve noticed most depictions of Leila khaled are ones of her younger face , her thinner body , almost as though she’s been made to be trapped in time but these figures , these people do age , they change + that’s what makes them human , I think a lot about desirability + who gets to be a renowned political figure, who is deemed “desirable” I specifically chose an older image of Leila to showcase how the fight for freedom isn’t a race but a life long marathon which requires endurance + resilience , her life hasn’t ended and her ideas and philosophy will not die with her - they will forever , through her children + the words she has shared with us Mothers go unappreciated but they are the literal backbone of civilisation, mothers age, every Palestinian person deserves to age , some quotes by Leila that particularly spoke to me: “The older I grew the more attached I became to the revolution” “I have a right to love and to be loved, to become a mother and a grandmother” “A woman can be a fighter, a freedom fighter, and a political activist. She is also capable of falling in love and being loved” Included different versions of this image to show my creative process #freepalestine🇵🇸 #leilakhaled #digitalart #feministart
