Join us October 15th for a screening of THE CURE IN ORANGE at 4-Star Theatre at 7pm The Cure co-founder Lol Tolhurst will be there for a Q&A and Book Signing Plus live performance by @r___image One of the most enduring concert films in rock history shot at the majestic Théâtre antique d’Orange in the French countryside, captures the band at the height of their powers, delivering a set that spans their entire career to that point (Aug 8th - 10th, 1986) Directed by long-time collaborator Tim Pope, the film eschews the typical concert documentary format. There are no backstage interviews, no voiceovers, no behind-the-scenes footage. Instead, Pope lets the music and the setting speak for themselves, creating a pure concert experience that stands the test of time. The line-up featured in the film is often considered the band’s strongest: Robert Smith on vocals and guitar, Simon Gallup on bass, Porl Thompson on guitar and keyboards, Boris Williams on drums, and Lol Tolhurst on keyboards. This combination of musicians brought a dynamic energy to the stage that is palpable even through the screen.
