I feel a bit nervous about releasing this one.
I wanted to be more direct with my writing and this song came out all in one go. I liked the rawness of it and didn’t edit what I was saying in the final cut.
For me, although it is sad, it feels hopeful. I surrounded myself with people that make me feel good about about myself. I leant on them and am forever grateful for them.
Throughout the making of this record, there has been a feeling of disconnect that has dominated the themes within it. Something that I have observed and by default, am a part of. In whatever way I can, I want be involved in bringing back a world of community and togetherness.
If you’re feeling hopeless, hug your friends.

Forever grateful for @sebastian_muller94
This song came out today. It’s a breath of fresh air for me and @sebastian_muller94 . We wrote a bunch of songs in Somerset where I grew up and they’re all inspired by a craving for connection, to people and to nature. We stripped it back to basics and tried something new! I’m excited for the next couple of months of releases and it feels like just the beginning 🫂 ps hug your friends. Artwork by @bennsmi
@cielcielmusic trusted me a while back (mid 2021) with a bunch of ideas and an eagerness to get creative. We used whatever lighting we could find and cheap plastic gels for colour. Some stuff worked, some didn’t. We used construction lighting late at night in a park, didn’t use flash and only shot on 35mm film. I was out of my depth and super nervous, thankfully the band are incredibly kind and calm, putting all of that at ease. I love working together on shoots, everyone chipping in. The end result had smiles all around. Lovely stuff. Check them out, they are great 🫶
@lodamii underneath a shopping centre. All shot on a Praktica TL1000, Kodak Ultramax 400. I love multiple exposure, sometimes it’s not very tasteful, but imo these are tasty.
