Excited to share Through Our Eyes — a body of work that examines the intricacies of love within the African-Australian experience. This project weaves together moments from the African diaspora, exploring identity while rejecting reductive narratives. The works consider love as a connective force — found in family, community, and the places people call home. 📍 Exhibition opens: 6pm, Friday 13 March
📍 @blakdotgallery Supported by Creative Australia. I’m deeply honoured to have worked alongside such talented creatives on this project: @benny.sv @boynative.xyn @panashenathan @my_film_buk @wanitoaishara A special thank you to @eyerus_hasen , @mah_ali07 , @meron.negassi , and @tigistkebedeee for trusting me and allowing me into your lives and spaces with my camera.

Excited to share this photo of @moe_ali5 that has been selected as a finalist for the @maph_photography Look! Prize 2025 This image was captured in March earlier this year as Mohamed prepared for his second Muay Thai Victoria fight. I wanted to illustrate the hard work, discipline, and resilience that defines the people who train in this sport. As someone who shares Mohamed’s passion for Muay Thai, I aimed to portray not only the grit and intensity often associated with the sport, but also the quiet beauty, focus, and artistry that lies beneath the surface. You can see this work on display at MAPh’s Atrium Gallery until 1st December 2025

120 Racecourse Road, 2025 Proud to finally share this photo of @mah_ali07 that has been selected as a finalist for the 2025 National Portrait Prize @portraitau 120 Racecourse Road is more than just a building. Like others in Melbourne’s housing estates it has been a cornerstone of the African-Australian community in this city. With it and others set for demolition soon or already gone, the lives of many residents will be irreversibly changed. I humbly dedicate this photo - and my finalist nomination - to them.
