When I was in high school, I asked my Grandma-- this devout Pentecostal woman, what we should think about abortions. She told me the story of her sister, raped as a girl in South Georgia. They gave her an abortion with turpentine and a hanger. She survived but could never have children when she grew up and married. Grandma reminded me that we don't have a heaven or hell to put people in, and women should be allowed to have real doctors if they ever have need for one for whatever reason... and this includes abortions. Black/Brown/Poor women. This is who will be affected by turpentine and hanger abortions. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
