WAIT WHAT! It won 𤯠Blown away to receive the news that my Gold Whisky Tumbler was named amongst the top 25 designs of 2024 by Western Living Design 25 Awards. There were over 600 entries that showed off incredible, smart and cutting edge design across Western Canada. Humbled (to say the least) to sit amongst such talent.
If youâve been around here for some time youâll know this shiny piece has gone through some edits and revisions including being completely shelved and almost tossed for the first year of itâs life. This is the latest edition and I love to see that it still turns heads. Thank you @westernliving for loving this piece as much as I do!! I guess this means Iâll be needing to make more to refill my stock. Back to getting my hands dirty! đ
Iâve included a link to the article in my bio in case youâre interested đ
I finally finished it. This large vase is hand coiled with Canadian speckled stoneware that turns toasty and warm when fired against a brushed black glaze. It didnât fire perfectly, there are cracks that emerged but the practice of making beyond my experience always imprints so many lessons on how I move forward on my next piece. Clay is my toughest critic, and best teacher.

As someone who creates out of clay Iâm reminded, today especially, that we were meticulously and beautifully crafted by the hand of the ultimate creator God and artist. What a privilege and gift to witness that work in my sweet mom and incredible sons in this same space. Happy mommaâs day â¤ď¸

How I trim and glaze these trinket boxes. Wheelthrown in one single closed form first, then I slice them open. To expediate drying, I use a hairdryer so I can continue working on them right away. So cute yet so useful. What would you store in them?

Sculptural pieces will be added to my shop update coming next week. I believe in the beauty they bring to a table and the quality they give to a space. These raw stoneware vessels are not made to hold water so dried elements only. I hope you love them as much as I do đĽ°
Thank you @jarmanshop and @thelunafloral for the beautiful dried florals in these photos

So sweetly happy with these torn vases that came out of the kiln this week. They are both wheel thrown in 2 large parts, assembled together, and carefully torn apart. For a person whoâs spent almost 9 years at the wheel trying to throw every form as âperfectâ as possible, making that first rip into the clay took some significant self pep talk. đ
The following fire my kiln broke so itâls currently off duty until it can be repaired. Thankfully there are a number of beauties that Iâm prepping to release in a shop update next week. Iâm really looking forward to sharing them with you â¤ď¸

In case she explodes into a million pieces when she goes in the kilnâŚ. here is the document that she once lived.
Hoping to glaze and fire this big baddie soon. My mind is filled with thoughts of all the things, both good and bad, that will happen in the kiln changing the form of this piece forever. I suppose that is also the wonderful nature of ceramics - the transformation that happens is always like magic and I still prepare myself for the rollercoaster that could bring the worst or the best outcomes. Thanks for sharing the ride with me đ

Hoping to release a new collection soon. As always with every unfamiliar direction comes a host of unpredictable problems to solve. One of those learning how to manage cracks that seemed to pop out of nowhere as the vessels dry. Currently theyâre in the bisque fire so Iâm hoping the tricks and techniques Iâve applied work! Canât wait to show the finished and fired pieces â¤ď¸
