At some point last year I realised bad news was dictating my life. I was anticipating the next worst thing to happen on a daily basis. It felt like the only way to feel in control was to expect the worst, so that when it happens, at least you have some validation that you were right.
We are now programmed to ingest such a huge and unhealthy amount of information constantly, and it is so exhausting.
I wrote this song on the train, had a big cry took some deep breaths and started taking steps to reduce my exposure. It’s so important to understand and process what’s going on in the world right now, but the way it’s presented feels like it’s designed to force you into a state of overwhelm and paralysis.
