☼ FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT ☼
We’re ridiculously excited to announce Charlottefield as the final main artist for Quiet Steps 2026.
Few bands from the UK underground have left a mark quite like Charlottefield. Emerging in the late 90’s, they carved out a sound that felt both violent and hypnotic, blending fractured rhythms, dissonant guitars and relentless momentum into something entirely their own. Their records on FatCat became hugely influential within experimental rock and noise circles, helping shape a generation of bands drawn to tension, repetition and raw emotional intensity. Even now, their music still sounds ahead of its time.
What makes this appearance even more special is the rarity of it. Charlottefield have barely appeared on stages since disbanding in 2008, this marks their first public show back, and first performance in Leeds since 2007 (when they played with @foals at the Brudenell, anyone?!). Closing a near two-decade absence from the city. For many, this will be the first and only opportunity to witness one of the UK’s most revered cult bands in a live setting again. Quiet Steps exists for moments exactly like this.
“No hyperbole, one of the best UK bands from the early 2000s”
Joining Charlottefield, we have some of the best underground up-and-coming acts that we handpicked from over 100 applicants:

☼ Two more artists for Quiet Steps Fest. ☼
Very happy to announce: Hey Mercedes.
Formed from three members of Braid after they split in 1999, Hey Mercedes released their debut EP on Polyvinyl Records and went on to become a proper staple of early 2000s indie emo. They will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of seminal album ‘Every Night Fireworks’. They never made it to the UK first time round, so we’re very pleased that their first ever trip over includes Leeds, as one of only three dates.
Also joining them are one of our favourite Leeds bands, What? Nah. Twinkly moody mathrock at its best.
More still to come very soon.

ANNOUNCEMENT ONE / TICKET UPDATE:
☼ This has been a long time in the making. Two genuine cornerstones of emo, post-hardcore and math rock, together in Leeds. ☼
This will be Faraquet’s first ever time coming to the UK, and Braid return for their first UK appearance since 2013.
Joining them are pennines on their first trip up north and first show outside of Norwich / London since reforming (after somehow breaking the internet and becoming famous a whole ‘nother time again).
We’ve convinced our dearest pals Tangled Hair to come all the way up the M6 and play the loveliest version of math rock ever made.
Pancho are a brand-new supergroup featuring members of TTNG and Delta Sleep, making their Quiet Steps debut.
Set at Project House, with two stages and no clashes. Come and hangout for the nicest day of emo in the UK ever.
A meeting point for @dischordrecords , @polyvinylrecords and @bsmrocks with more acts still to come.
☼☼ More festival, venue and accessibility info to come very shortly ☼☼
