@michaeldorio always wanted to release a holiday song. Every year we’d talk about it and never really act on it.
We had forgotten that back in 2011, we threw a little tune together called Winter Song. Originally tracked at our warehouse converted studio on Marietta St, the original recording was part of the same batch of songs that would become Megaphona. I can’t remember why we never bothered finishing it, but it ended up on the shelf. Fast forward years later, Matt unearthed this old gem just weeks before Christmas. We made it a goal to turn it into something new.
Cobbled together from pieces of the original recording and a collection of new home recorded overdubs, this explosive tune has taken on a little life of its own. Special thank you to @dekespears for unearthing the original session, to @machetevetter for helping us see it in a new light, and to @brad.e.z.fresh for drumming, mixing, and breathing new life into it.

An afternoon at @hemlockvalleyga prepping for the big dance on Aug 23rd at @terminalwest . The last time we were all here together, we were preparing for Swans & Embers in the fall of 2013. My, how time flies. Grateful to still be doing this with these gents. Hope to see you soon!
