QUENTIN GORE ABUNDANCE So pleased to take in the final day (March 22, 2026) of this exhibition at Hahndorf Academy. As the artist states, “I grow a lot of my food in my home garden and some of it from seed. I continue to be amazed by the abundance that nature provides with one seed producing thousands more. My arts practice stems from my interest in plants, growing food, ecology and conservation. My grandfather was a market gardener from the Piccadilly Valley, who went on to grow flowers at Burnside. I spent much of my childhood amongst the flowers, wreaths and vegetables alongside my grandmother and aunt who were florists. Nowadays I live and work in Crafers in the Adelaide Hills and my garden and surrounds continue to provide creative inspiration. I take a hands-on approach to my arts practice, often working with natural materials, local timber, and stone, and whenever possible with reclaimed materials. I have a deep interest in nature and the cycle of life, so many of my sculptural forms are derived from seeds, bulbs, leaves, flowers and patterns found in nature” Quentin Gore is an acclaimed artist with public art across Australia. All large, freestanding works are weather-proof and suitable for indoor and outdoor placement. 📷 @earth_emag @quentingore @hahndorfacademy

On show @hahndorfacademy until March 22 as part of my Abundance show. This kinetic work stems from my interest in moths and why they fly around porch lights in a frenzy. Titled Celestial chaos the paper moths featured here are a threatened species the Cryptic Sun Moth now only found in a small patch of the Adelaide Hills.
