At @inbritish , we brought together #FiveFilmsForFreedom and the launch of Echoes Beyond the Stage, marking four years of Language is a Queer Thing 🌈 and its growing cultural impact across India and the UK.
The evening featured poetry by Sara Haque moving between wit and pop culture through alt British boy bands, and Rachit Sharma, whose work traced the textures of Delhi’s rich ecology. 🌿
On screen, the five films opened up stories of love, school crushes, transitioning, and football, each offering a glimpse into the many ways queer lives are lived and expressed across borders. 🌍

🎬 #FiveFilmsForFreedom is back — five new films spotlighting LGBTQIA+ stories from around the world.
In partnership with @inbritish and community partners across India, we’re bringing screenings, masterclasses, and industry conversations to 10 cities from March 18–29, 2026.
We’re also launching ‘Echoes Beyond the Stage’ — a report marking four years of Language is a Queer Thing and its impact in building a cross-border community of LGBTQIA+ poets across India and the UK.

Eight emerging filmmakers spent a week learning from our incredible mentors, writing, workshopping scripts, dreaming up bold new worlds, and forging lasting friendships along the way.
Hosted at the stunning Lalit Golf & Spa Resort, the retreat set the perfect tone for what’s next. The Lab now moves online with screenwriting lectures, feedback sessions, and industry masterclasses ahead. 🎬

✨ Drumrolls! Meet our 8 incredible Fellows of the 2025 QueerFrames Screenwriting Lab!
This year’s cohort brings bold fiction feature projects by women, trans, and nonbinary filmmakers - where queerness is the heart of the story, not the subplot.
The Lab kicks off with an in-person retreat in Goa (Oct 3-12), followed by six months of mentorship and development with global industry leaders such as Vikramaditya Motwane (Sacred Games), Rohan Parashuram Kanawade (Cactus Pears), and Tricia Tuttle (Berlinale Festival Director).
