PLS SHARE WIDELY! We are looking for roommates to share our Gay Ol’ House up in Woodstock! We are flexible on move-in dates and length of stay beginning any time after September 15. We will require a 50% security deposit on move-in. The rooms are both fully furnished and both rental rates include all utilities. Room 1: This cozy, den-like bedroom is on the second floor. You will share an extremely glam bathroom with our roommate which has a retro blue soaking tub and shower. We have ample bathroom storage for towels and toiletries in the hall. The bedroom itself has a ceiling fan and a closet. Room 2: This large, sunny bedroom has a private garden entrance—it’s on the first floor off of the laundry and office space and offers a bit of a secluded feel. The room has a wood stove, a big dresser, a reading chair, and a Murphy bed. There is a bathroom w/ shower across the hall. The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no neighbors behind us or to one side. We have a beautiful garden with a heated outdoor saltwater pool and a patio. The house backs up against 20 acres of protected state forest with a few short hiking trails and abundant wildlife. We have a full laundry and a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Our house is a special place to us with a rich family history and Big Gay Energy. On that note: we are an intergenerational and interracial gay couple with a dog. We are both artists and spend about half of our time in Brooklyn and travel quite a lot. We are looking for roommates who either are also queer and trans or who can hang in a queer household. We are looking for good communicators who clean up after themselves and appreciate a calm and peaceful environment, but we also hope to find people who are up for a party or large community event once in a blue moon. No pets, sorry! Text Lyle for more info: 440 731 0340 Looking forward to finding our housemates! Besos, @antrinidad007 & @queerelle (ANTONIO & LYLE)

Reposting this here from @najatnahshal because I think it’s extremely important. After posting a photo of a sign I made that read ā€œtrans for intifadaā€ more than 100 people unfollowed my Instagram account within an hour. These included people who support ā€œceasefireā€ but for whom seeing a word that in Arabic means ā€œuprisingā€ was apparently too much to bear. I’ve heard countless people say that they supported the protests until they began to hear ā€œAllahu-Akbarā€ and ā€œjihadā€ chanted out loud. One friend of a friend posted that he felt afraid when he saw protestors chanting and singing in Arabic: ā€œpeace to the martyrsā€. This ā€œfearā€ is Islamophobia and racism and it exists too amongst the left—and at large needs to end. We’ve been over-conditioned to hear Arabic and believe that the translations we get from Western media are accurate—all of which conflate Arabic phrasings of resistance to occupation, genocide, and apartheid with terrorism. Educate yourself and decolonize these terms and chants. Learn them so that you can join and amplify these phrases at protests.
