Not sure how to face the violence in the world around us in this moment? Let’s turn to the queer resource of our dreams, day dreams, and the dreamlike to connect us to our collective reality. Join our next Queer Dream Matrix next Wednesday, 15th April, 6:30-8:30pm (GMT) at The MayDay Rooms, London. Dm or email [email protected] to RSVP. This is a space for queer and trans people to explore our dreams for their collective and social meanings. Free and welcoming. Come and see what dreams and associations emerge from the connections between us. We’ll be finding a queer resource in the unruly, the nocturnal, and the illogical.  Sasha Gordon, (2024). ‘It was still far away.’

February’s matrix was a “bloody valentine”. Love and lovers offered sweet slow connection while rabbits bred across our dreams. We doodled while we dreamt. Gunge spread through and between us. Jelly, lava, and blood, goo filled the matrix. We wondered if this “thick air” was a buffer and protection from the current world, or if it could be like an ultrasound gel or the jelly of an eye allowing us to see through and into our reality. Our next dream matrix is on Wednesday 15th April, 6:30-8:30pm (GMT) at the MayDay Rooms, EC4Y 1DH. Email [email protected] to RSVP or to join the mailing list.

This month, join us for a special dreaming matrix event hosted within Antonia Luxem’s exhibition ‘On Falling’ at the Koppel Project Annex in Elephant and Castle. We will gather inside the installation, which is conceived as a dream incubation chamber: a red-lit, snail-like space combining film, sound, painting and performance.  Saturday 14th March, 11am - 1pm at at the Koppel Project Annex, 1 Tiverton Street, SE1 6NT. If you’d like to attend, please RSVP by emailing [email protected]@ or by DM. This is a workshop for queer and trans people to explore our dreams for their collective and social meanings. Free and welcoming. Come and see what dreams and associations emerge from the space, finding a queer resource in the unruly, the nocturnal, and the illogical.  *** On Falling explores falling as a sustained, cyclical state of renewal. Drawing on Luxem’s engagement with dreams, hypnosis and altered states – and mythic descents from Sisyphus to Dante – the exhibition traces the oscillation between dreaming, disorientation, and heightened attention, unlocking the potential for transformation and re-worlding. Our January matrix was full of disgust, as both a queer weapon and an infiltrating threat. We thought about rot as romantic and the privilege of being in the bodily muck of care for the people and animals in our lives. There was a dream of falling in love with a beautiful pink pig and of swimming in dirty holy water. Our dreams accompanied us across the threshold of the new year. There was death and dying, sea surges and storms. Thoughts about the fire horse of the new lunar year and how to meet the action required of us in this moment. Our next matrix will be on Zoom on Wednesday 19th February, 6:30-8:30pm (GMT). DM or email [email protected] for the link.
