As part of the year long @aceagrams x @queercumbria Mentorship Program, myself and @lukeart22 have built a entire mystical world that we have named Ecceniqueer
🌍
We spent hours upon hours creating characters, landscapes, cities, lore and landscapes; illustrating the world that came from our heads.
The world and its myths have been formatted into a zine which will be available for purchase at @theclosetcarlisle with all proceeds going to @lukeart22 ✨
You will find beavers, non-binary wizards, archivists, freshwater mermaids, giant feet covered in moss, camels in deckchairs and cults…
@aceagrams@queercumbria@theclosetcarlisle
💛THIS SATURDAY💛
Get yourselves down to The Closet for our Mentorship Showcase and see work from talented emerging artists!
As a community it's so important that we show up for the artists who are starting out. Let's show them how supportive the arts community is 💛
This has been an amazing project that we're currently looking to extend into next year, so if you're interested in getting a mentorship this is a great opportunity to ask about it!
See ya there, 5-7pm!
Massive thanks to Arts Council for being big supporters of our young artists and funding this year-long project @aceagrams 🌼
Folk tale lovers... this one is for you 🐛
On the blog this week we've got an excellent folk tale by Sam which tells the origin of the midges, inspired by the original Scottish legend

Throwback to our launch event for our exhibition Now & Them: Reclaiming Queer Cumbria ❣️
As this project comes to a close it was great to celebrate all the work that's gone into this vital heritage project. As history is currently repeating itself, and the erasure of marginalised heritage is a common act of fascism, it's important we don't let people forget the Queer folks that came before us 🌹
Roberta, you would've loved the exhibition, this is our love letter to you ❤️
