Today I turn 31. I'm very grateful I've made it to my 30s. Something I really want to work on this year is to not hold myself back especially when it comes to music and art. I'm always battling imposter syndrome and convincing myself the art I make isn't "good enough". But I'm trying to overcome those voices in my head and so I'm starting by putting out an unreleased song. In early 2022 I started messing around in a pirated version of Ableton. I didn't entirely know what I was doing but it was fun. The result was a song that I named "Sound of Hope". I showed a couple friends but never released because I didn't think it sounded perfect yet. It's just been sitting on my hard drive all these years but now I feel is the right time. The world is so fucked rn and I think we need to keep hope alive. So here is my cheesy anarcho-pop anthem about not succumbing to despair. Link in bio under Connection Seeker :)
I've been obsessed with this song since the day it came out. Obsessed to the point that the week after, I tried my hand (or ear rather) at transcribing it and posted a tab of it on ultimate guitar. But I couldn't figure out which key was the most comfortable for me to sing and also play in so I've experimenting a bunch. And this is the cover that has emerged. I'm very excited for this new Saintseneca album coming out on Friday, I think it'll be incredible and I'm so psyched to have more songs to fall in love with!! I love music, it's truly what I live for 💓
Life is so hard and fucked up and sad but sometimes in between there are moments of joy, love, care and connection and I'm really trying to hold on to those moments lately.
Thanks @bezstrashnyst for snapping the pic of me and Ezra 😭💓
We want to express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who attended the Mutual Aid Market for Families in Gaza. Together, we were able to raise a total of $3,501.00 CAD! This amount has been evenly distributed to each of the families we chose to support. Each campaign has received $1,167.00 CAD which is $1,133.00 CAD after processing fees (swipe for receipts).
The money we raised will make a tangible difference for our friends in Gaza who deserve as much ease and safety as they can get right now. Thank you again from all of us and on behalf of @sohaib_khalaf6@ghazal.abu.dalal@ghazal_designer2@mohammednabhan2025 and their families. Please continue to show our friends and their campaigns support if you can, every dollar counts 💖
A massive thank you to our wonderful vendors as well as those who donated their time and wares to make this happen. Thank you to @maskbloctoronto and @safeaircollective for providing masks and filters for the market. Lastly, thank you to @tranzac292 for hosting us and providing us with everything we needed (lamps and all). We appreciate each of you so much and hope to do this again in the future!
