hello community! weâre excited to share updates with yâall regarding this page. most of you noticed the name and logo change from QUEER SD ACCESSIBLE EVENTS to QUEER ACCESS. the reason for the name change is that weâre more than just accessible community events. weâre a community hive network and we care about abolition, accessibility, advocacy, collective liberation, education, land back, public health, community resources, bids for care + support (including mutual aid) and accessible events (mainly virtual + kumeyaay + tongva lands).
we redesigned our logo for the page with lots of thought, care and love. the dark gray and black colors represent current dark times but everyone is able to find each other and share resources here, in community whether itâs online or in person.
for transparency purposes, the page team is expanding and queer access is now run by members of queer, trans, two spirit, BIPOC, d/Deaf, hard of hearing, disabled, chronically + mentally ill, neurodivergent and/or multiply marginalized communities. melissa, the founder of the page, will be cleaning out old dms containing confidential information and personal conversations. hopefully this will be done by february 21st. please note that due to the current dumpnaziâs + unsafe meta + potentially doxxing bs, names of the new team members will not be shared publicly.
more about our page including vision statement, values and goals will be shared at a later time. we are thankful for being able to connect with yâall here and on bluesky. in the meantime ââ drink lots of water, mask up and stay safe.

From the official @freekeshiagolden meal train. Support if you can!
Our dear friend and family member, Keshia Golden, is going through so much as a DV survivor being prosecuted for the outcome of an act of self-defense. She is also supporting her 3 year old daughter through a surgery on her spine that will require her to be on bed rest for 3 weeks. Imagine keeping a smart, busy toddler still for that long! It will take all Keshiaâs energy to support her childâs healing during that time, which means she canât work, and wonât have time to go to the grocery store or cook. Please help Keshia and her daughter get through this incredibly stressful time. If you can, please donate funds for basic needs or gift cards for food delivery. Close friends and family will help prepare meals too, but groceries are so expensive. Food heals. Thank you! Solidarity!
